Pregnant and Struggling Financially?
Are you overwhelmed because you recently found out that you are pregnant? It is normal to be stressed and not know what to do. Maybe you are pregnant and need help, but aren’t sure where to get that help. There are a lot of questions that come along with being in an unplanned pregnancy, and our pregnancy counselors are here to help. One of your first questions may be, “How can I afford a baby?” Here are some steps to start planning for your baby financially:
Write down an “in and out” sheet
Write down all the money you have coming in and all that you are spending in each month. Think through all of your current expenses like rent, food, car/bus cost, cell phone, etc. and compare it to all of the ways you bring in money (full time or part time job, government assistance, monthly money from family). This can help you see where your money is going. You may decide to change how you spend money, if you need more to afford a baby.
Make a Mom List
Start a list of the things you will need as a mom. Think of things like diapers, bottles, clothes, pacifiers and more. You can find out the prices by looking online or going to a local store.
